Judson at Home is an affordable, customizable membership program that keeps you living independently in your own home.

As a member, you have access to all the social, cultural and educational programs at any of Judson’s communities including our highly regarded wellness and fitness centers. You’ll benefit from a safety net of healthcare services with priority access to all levels of care, should your future needs change.

Plus, the Judson consultation team which includes registered nurses, a board-certified geriatrician and licensed independent social worker, is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All work together with you to customize an ideal plan.

Here are some frequently asked questions about Judson at Home:

Why would I choose Judson at Home over a competitor?

Judson has been serving Northeast Ohio for over 100 years. We have a solid, long-standing reputation of strong service to the community and to our mission of providing the best quality of life and care to seniors.

I am active and don’t have any medical issues, why should I sign up for Judson at Home?

Judson at Home is a forward-thinking program for people who have decided they want to age in their own home.  Although members sign up for a variety of reasons, the number one reason is peace of mind. Having the Judson team in place and knowing we will activate when you need us, removes an element of uncertainty from your decision to remain at home. In addition, the abundant cultural and wellness options available to you through membership provide you with even more ways to enrich your daily life.

How do I know if I financially qualify to join the program?

Our one-time membership initiation fee is $5,000 with an affordable annual renewal fee of $270 to remain in the program.  There are no monthly fees and any additional services that are not included in the membership costs, such as home care or Smart Living Professional services, are charged a la carte. You pay only for the services you need when you need them.

Do I have to be perfectly healthy and free of pre-existing conditions to join?

No health screening is necessary. Our goal is to serve you based on your current needs and circumstances. As long as you are able to live safely in your own home with our without assistance, and you are cognitively able to make your own decisions, you are eligible for Judson at Home membership.

How will Membership benefit me if I have a hospital stay?

When you join Judson at Home, we provide you with a 24/7 Non-Emergency Nurse Call Line. Please share this number with your significant others and physicians. If you are in the hospital, ask your doctor or caregiver to give us a call and let us know. We take the guesswork out of choosing a rehabilitation facility and help walk you and your caregivers through the discharge planning process.

What if my plans change and I no longer want to stay at home?

We understand that plans can change. Your Judson at Home membership offers you the following options:

  • If you decide to move into Independent Living at a Judson community, your $5,000 membership initiation fee will be credited toward your community entry fee.
  • If you move from home into one of Judson’s Assisted Living apartments you will receive 5% off of your monthly rate for the duration of your stay.
  • If you move from home into Judson’s skilled nursing facility at Judson Park, you will receive 5% off your daily rate for the duration of your stay.
  • If you permanently move out of state, your $5,000 membership initiation fee will be refunded to you in full.

How do you screen the employees that would help me in my home?

Our employees are vetted by Judson’s human resource department and our Judson at Home department. Once they have gone through the interview process, applicants must submit to a State of Ohio fingerprint background check, a drug and nicotine screening and a check of their driving record. All of these tests must come back clear of infractions in order for them to be considered for hire.
