University Circle has recently been named the #1 Arts District in the country! In an online poll from USA Today, the neighborhood of Cleveland, which is home to the world famous Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Orchestra, and Museum of Contemporary Art, was chosen by popular vote as the best Arts District in 2021.
This cultural-filled neighborhood is home to Judson Manor, and is a short stop away from Judson Park, located in Cleveland Heights. Residents have long enjoyed access to the magnificent museums and cultural attractions that are located just outside the front door in University Circle!
Judson Manor and Park are also home to artistic programs that contribute to University Circle’s reputation as a leading neighborhood for arts and culture. Theatre in the Circle, created by Judson Manor residents Bill and Mark Corcoran, is the only professional theater company in the country helmed by residents of a retirement community and is located at Judson Manor.
Judson also leads the groundbreaking intergenerational Artists-In-Residence program, in which student artists from the nearby Cleveland Institute of Music in University Circle are provided with furnished apartments at Judson Manor, rent-free. During their time at Judson, artists provide cultural programming and performances for residents across all three campuses.
These wonderful opportunities for artistic and cultural engagements within our campuses and in the surrounding neighborhood of University Circle are one of the many highlights that residents of Judson enjoy!
