Spremulli discussed how various factors affect vocal health as people grow older. Voice Aerobics™ is a three-part voice and exercise program she developed that focuses on posture, breathing and voice. The exercises are designed for anyone looking to improve and strengthen the use of their voice and throat. They are especially helpful for individuals with changes in their voice, speech or swallowing as a result of Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, and other neurological disorders.
Members had a chance to try Voice Aerobics as Spremulli led them through the various exercises. Afterwards, she answered a number of questions. South Franklin Circle is considering integrating some of Mary’s techniques into its existing programming for Crane House assisted living members.
