Come see for yourself why Theatre in the Circle was recently named one of the “Best Theatres in Cleveland” by Broadway World!
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown was carefully selected by Mark and Bill Corcoran who helm Theatre in the Circle, the only professional theater company in the country run by the residents of a retirement community. Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang have been around for over 65 years and today’s retirees grew up on the comic strip and shared it with their children. The musical is full of beautiful memories and beloved characters to which parents and children, and even grandchildren, can relate. The beauty of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown lies in its sly complexity combining the open frankness of children with the universal questions that we ask ourselves throughout life. The subjects of truth, love, and hope take on an extra layer of meaning when delivered by this cast of older players.
As Mark stated, “Seniors bring a whole new level to this production. At the same time, it’s quite funny to watch the actors channeling their eight-year-old selves. Some of the lines are much funnier coming out of the mouths of adults!” The cast is perfectly curated for this performance and having so much fun with the material. So come immerse yourself in the memories of childhood and the questions and ponderings that are still relevant in today’s world while you enjoy laugh-out-loud entertainment.
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is playing this weekend on Friday at 7:30 pm, Saturday at 2 pm and 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm. The Thursday show is sold out.
