Is your mouth watering yet?
These were just a few of the delicacies South Franklin Circle residents sampled during a “behind-the-scenes” guided tour of Radius lead by Catering and Events Coordinator Karen Nadeau. The private fine-dining restaurant at South Franklin Circle is available to residents, families and their friends. Radius serves dinner Tuesday—Sunday, 5:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m. and Sunday Brunch 11:00 a.m.—1:30 p.m.
First Stop—Radius Serving Kitchen
South Franklin Circle Executive Chef Chris Koshar warmly welcomed residents and explained how the serving kitchen worked. As the prep cooks readied items for the evening’s menu, Chef Chris offered Lobster Lollipop appetizers for residents to sample.
Chris expressed how he appreciates receiving feedback cards from the residents. “It’s important to me that I know we’re doing a good job and meeting your needs,” said Chris. South Franklin Circle resident Vern Weber praised Chris and his team for the work they put into various theme nights, and how Chris is out front greeting diners and often sitting with them to talk.
Second Stop—Prep Kitchen
Pastry Chef Ariel Galun has the job most people envy—she spends her day creating delectable desserts from scratch for Radius diners. While explaining her job, Ariel tempted residents’ taste buds with a dish of pink-colored French Macaroons, similar in texture and taste to almond cookies.
Next, Sous Chef Shaun Kilbane, whose specialty is soups, put an interesting spin on the perennial Tomato Soup/Grilled Cheese Sandwich dinner. He crafted a Creamy Tomato Soup Shooter, garnished with a mini-grilled cheese sandwich crouton!
Third and Last Stop—The Bar
Last stop? Where else, but the bar at Radius manned by friendly and affable Maitre de Rob Walk. While residents sipped trendy Moscow Mules, Rob answered questions about the most popular drinks among residents and guests. He also explained how the community table works, which offers residents the chance to have dinner with and get to know new residents.
Karen wrapped up the tour by reminding residents her services are always available if they wish to plan and cater a private event.
