Resident Appreciates Complimentary Real Estate and Moving Services

Peggy Brooks had lived in her Orange Village home for 43 years. She was excited to move to South Franklin Circle, but putting her house on the market seemed a daunting task, not to mention embarking on a move. “What did I know about finding a realtor?” asks Peggy.

Luckily, Peggy found advocates in two special ladies – Lee-Ann Spacek of North Coast Residential Relocation and Susan Kent of Moving by Design.  Judson covers the services both Lee-Ann and Susan provide for those moving to any of Judson’s communities.

A seasoned real estate veteran, Lee-Ann serves as a mediator, helping individuals select a realtor, stage and prepare their home for market, negotiate and close contracts and more.

“Lee-Ann recommended a realtor with great suggestions,” says Peggy. “I listed my home the day after Easter and got an offer that day – for my asking price! It couldn’t have worked out any better.”

Now with her home sold, Peggy began planning her move with the help of Susan Kent and Moving by Design. Susan’s calming, organized presence helps individuals sort, down-size, pack and move, and then un-pack their belongings as they transition to South Franklin Circle or other Judson communities.

“Susan was a joy to work with,” says Peggy. “I would have been overwhelmed without her. She really has a spiritual gift—she makes gentle suggestions without being bossy. She also works miracles: there were a couple of furniture pieces I didn’t think I’d be able to take, but Susan found a way to make them work in my new apartment.”

Peggy appreciated Susan’s helping hands, given that most of her immediate family lives out of town.

“Susan had everything under control,” says Peggy. “The night before the move, I slept in Orange and the next night I was sleeping in my new bedroom at South Franklin Circle. The transition was that smooth and seamless.”

On moving day, South Franklin Circle residents and staff were on hand to welcome Peggy and help her get acclimated – and this sense of connectedness and community continues. “I’m still amazed at how welcoming everyone is here.”

Shortly after moving in, Peggy pursued a volunteering opportunity. She met with a resident who matched her interests and background with a position as a reading tutor at nearby Timmons Elementary School. It was a perfect fit for Peggy, who taught physical education at Garfield Heights Schools and later served as a guidance counselor. “I work with one student throughout the school year, so it gives us the chance to develop a great relationship,” says Peggy. “It’s wonderful to give back and see them improve.”
