Radius Restaurant at South Franklin Circle and Private Reserve Wines present A Portuguese Wine Dinner Showcasing the Wines of Esporao, Tuesday, August 27, 2013, 6:30 p.m., in the Chautauqua Room at South Franklin Circle retirement community, 16575 S. Franklin Street, Bainbridge Township.
The four-course event pairs the seasonally inspired, classically grounded, progressive cuisine of Radius Restaurant Executive Chef Ian H. Thompson with Esporao Wines-a family winery from the Alentejo region of Portugal. The event also includes a meet and greet with and commentary from Esporao Wines expert, Pedro Lopes Vieira.
Wines will include: Monte Velho White 2011; Private Selection White 2011; Reserva Red 2009; Quarto Castas 2010; Late Harvest 2010. Wines will be provided by Chuck’s Fine Wines of Chagrin Falls.

About Ian H. Thompson Executive Chef, Radius Restaurant at South Franklin Circle Classically trained Ian H. Thompson spent three years as chef du cuisine at fire food and drink working with legendary Cleveland Chef Doug Katz. He then went on to open Provenance and Provenance Café at the newly reopened Cleveland Museum of Art. Originally from Niu Valley, Hawai’i, Ian graduated summa cum laude from Johnson & Wales University in Denver. At age 28, he earned his first executive chef position in Denver, and worked for acclaimed chefs in Colorado before moving to Cleveland in 2007.
About Pedro Lopes Vieira Manager, North America, Esporao Wines Born and raised in Lisbon, Pedro has had a passion for wine as much as soccer. Playing professionally since age 18, it was soccer that brought him to Canada where he began his 13-year career in wine, starting what is now the most important Portuguese Importer in Canada, FWP. After eight years in Canada, Pedro returned to Portugal to work the European market for Esporao and has now made his way to the U.S. to grow the brand here.
