About Sheila N. Markowitz
Sheila N. Markowitz originally worked in the public relations field until she developed a passion for pottery. Within a year, Markowitz set up a studio in her Orange Village, Ohio home, sold work, won her first award in a juried show, and began teaching children and adults. For 16 years she made one-of-a-kind clay pieces and taught her students to appreciate their own creativity. Her work garnered more than 24 awards. Largely self-taught as a potter, she is entirely self-taught on the computer, having learned a succession of graphics programs. In 2004, trying a tool she hadn’t used before, she found she could merge images in myriad and subtle ways. Her digital art is held in both private and corporate collections.
