More than 100 of Judson’s most dedicated friends gathered October 2nd at the St. Clair Ballroom for Judson Foundation’s annual Celebration of Generosity. The special evening marked the fifth year that Judson has recognized donors for their philanthropic spirit and the many ways their generosity is advancing the organization’s mission of Bringing Community to Life.
“It is truly a privilege to set aside an evening to gather together and celebrate you and your giving spirit,” said Kendra Urdzik, Judson president and chief executive officer. “Many of you dedicate your time and resources year after year to help make Judson a more vibrant and engaging place to live. Your actions inspire so many of us and demonstrate that Judson truly is a special place.”
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2019 Judson Award for Philanthropic Leadership to George M. Rose in honor of his generous support of Judson’s creative arts and art therapy program. Established in 2017, the award is Judson’s highest philanthropic honor.
George and his late wife Audra, an accomplished artist, moved to Judson Park in 2012. In 2015, George made the first of a series of gifts in honor of his beloved wife to establish the Audra L. Rose Creative Arts Endowment Fund. In 2018, George furthered his philanthropic investment with a gift to renovate and expand the art studio at Judson Park. In recognition of George’s generosity and vision, the new space was named the Audra L. Rose Creative Arts Studio. A tribute video featuring the new studio demonstrated the impact of George’s generosity and the beneficial role creating art has in enhancing the quality of life.
The successful evening was made possible through the generous support of corporate partners. Gold sponsors for the event include Acendex, Fifth Third Bank, John G. Johnson Construction, Morrison Community Living, and Playhouse Square Real Estate Services. Silver sponsors were Absolute Pharmacy and Glenmede.
