Customizing Our New Home At Judson Manor

Meet Peter and Donna Pesch. This is third in a series where they detail, first-hand, their decision to move to Judson Manor’s newly renovated 11th Floor. Enjoy a candid, insider’s point of view of what it’s like moving to a Judson community.

Both Donna and I have lived in a variety of houses and apartments. Over the years, we have painted many rooms, refinished wooden floors, replaced window treatments and carpeting, updated bathrooms and kitchens, and even had skylights installed. But we have never had the pleasure of participating in the design and basic décor of a brand new living space. Thus, it has been a pleasant new experience to customize our apartment on the eleventh floor of Judson Manor.

We liked the basic floor plan provided, changing only two things: We eliminated a counter between the kitchen and the great room, and we opened up a pass-through between the kitchen and the dining area.

The options provided by Judson Manor for the wooden flooring, wooden cabinetry, granite counter tops, back splash, tile for the bathrooms and tile for the shower walls included selections that completely satisfied our taste.

We weren’t pleased with the ceiling lamps offered for the bedrooms and hallway, so these were dispensed with. We opted for single-handle faucets and different lighting for the bathroom cabinets. We requested track lighting for the dining area, and will install a George Jensen lamp from our previous house to illuminate the table between the kitchen and the great room.

Now that all the choices have been made, we are even more excited about moving into our dream suite on the eleventh floor.
