Moulthrop, a Cleveland-based journalist and author, discussed plans for the future of The City Club, including expanding the reach of its programming across beyond the walls of the Club’s downtown location.
“There’s lots of competition for people’s attention,” he said. “We need to engage the Greater Cleveland community through a variety of different platforms-including social media and collaborations with other organizations.”
During the question and answer period, Moulthrop challenged the audience of over 100 South Franklin Circle members and guests to suggest future ideas for speakers and topics.
“The City Club exemplifies freedom of speech, which is something really important to me,” said Moulthrop. “It has such a rich history. The more I learn about it the more I love it-I really mean it. I’m kind of corny about things that way.”
The South Franklin Circle Dialogue Series continues on October 23 with Lev Gonick, CEO of OneCommunity, with “Next Generation Broadband: The Future of Healthy Aging in Place.”
